This song was written by my good friend Neil Moog. I loved this song the second I heard the demo of it. I didn't write this but the sentiment and themes fit the story of our record perfectly. This record is named after a line in this song that i misheard. The actual line is "Love is a conscious thing" but i grew so attached to what i had stuck in my head all these years.
lyrics
2000 years (WRITTEN BY KILL WHITEY)
time to gather all your
useless possessions
time to recall your
useless intensions
put your past in a bag
fly to another town living
off a sad story about
who you are pack up
and run to another country
leave your kids your wife
your family
do what you gotta do
to survive.
sip a glass that you say
is half empty, think about
how your life is tragedy
you tried to kill what
you couldn't reform but
the kids they'll tell you
you've got nothing at all
you've got nothing at all
and I cry myself to sleep
i wouldn't swap you for
all the stars in the sky
all the promises that we
fed with too many lies
take it from a man who is
knowing what he's telling
you i mean what I say
when I tell you that I love
you looking glass feeling
fine gonna last
love is a consciousness
